Joan Brossa

Joan Brossa (Barcelona, 1919-1998). Poet in the broadest sense of the word, he wrote poetry in traditional stanzas, everyday poetry (anti-poetry), prose, plays and screenplays. He experimented with visual poetry, objects, installations and even bodily poems. To Brossa, there were no genres or boundaries between the arts. He started his career in the forties alongside J.V. Foix, Joan Miró and Joan Prats. He co-founded the magazine Dau al Set and actively collaborated with many different artists. From that moment on, Brossa established himself as one of the leading figures of Catalan contemporary literature and art.
