The intersection of art and literature is an inherent characteristic of the paintings of Joan Ponç. This is a singularity that Edicions Poncianes wishes to maintain as a standard in all its publications. We offer an open window to vast creative universes, with both a Catalan and an international scope.
A catalogue, a tree of dreams, of ideas, of books. Joan Ponç is its seed, and every branch is a collection. There are four central branches. From the first hang works about Joan Ponç: journals, studies, tributes. From the second, poetry: old and new authors, past, present and future of Catalan literature. From the third, Bèsties: great universal authors translated by current poets. From the fourth, essays: the action and ondulation of thought.
At Edicions Poncianes the book is conceived as an object that aims to seduce the reader at the touch of every one of its pages. Our intention is to publish books of the highest standard, both in terms of design and content. We are interested in moving towards the collector’s book, but also towards being accessible, and we understand that books remain: that is, that they will have to survive the passing of time. We prefer to sacrifice efficacy in favour of consistent, meaningful presentations. In this sense, the aesthetics of old editions are our benchmark, as we understand that it is the skeleton sustaining the book that confers presence to its contents.
