]]> Edicions Poncianes publishes this small volume to commemorate the transfering of the work Cabra to the MNAC, as part of the V Jornades Poncianes, which took place in October 2014.

The edition, which includes faithful reproductions in colour of all works, is conceived as a homage to Joan Ponç and includes written and visual contributions by José Corredor-Matheos, Enric Casasses, Joan Bufill, Carme Miquel, Evru, Masafumi Yamamoto, Joaquim Chancho, Albert Gonzalo, Frederic Amat, Arnau Puig, Antoni Marí, Vicenç Altaió, Pilar Parcerisas, Ricard Planas and Alèxia Sinoble.

]]> Capses secretes contains the space of freedom that Joan Ponç strived for in the waiting rooms of all the hospitals in the South of France he had to visit, for five years, due to serious health problems. These ‘secret boxes’ are formed by 424 drawings in India ink and watercolour, which the artist arranged in the series “Minigeperuts”, “Estranya”, “Degollats”, “Cap-espelmes”, “Èxtasi”, “Espurnes”, “Irregulars”, “Degenerats” and “Celestial”. The book also presents a number of approaches to Ponç’s work by Jordi Carulla-Ruiz, Sílvia Muñoz d’Imbert, Arnau Puig and Alèxia Sinoble, and reprints texts by Rosa Queralt, Luis Goytisolo, Fernando Arrabal and Jean-Clarence Lambert, among others, written specifically for the catalogue of the first exposition of Capses secretes, in 1983.

]]> A carefully edited book, Carrer de Joan Ponç reconstructs the friendship between Joan Brossa and Joan Ponç and displays the trace that it left in the literary and artistic trajectories of both creators. The edition compiles mostly unpublished materials and includes a folded poster, a postcard and two facsimiles. Edicions Poncianes endeavors to revive the flame of the artistically fruitful Brossa-Ponç friendship, with an emphasis on the blazing years of Dau al set.

]]> Edicions Poncianes publishes Ponç abans de Ponç (‘Ponç before Ponç’), an essential volume to fully understand the figure of Joan Ponç, thanks to the great number of documents it compiles makes available. It is a comprehensive compilation of everything that has been written about Ponç in press, exhibition catalogues and other assorted publications. The book puts together critical writings of historical importance —which are otherwise inaccessible— that give a clear idea of the critical reception Ponç encountered at the beginning of his career. It includes historical reviews and, in full, some of the most accomplished literary approaches to the meaning of his work, such as:

Un conjunt de documents que, reunits, ens ajuden a entendre la importància de les relacions personals i professionals que bastiren un cercle virtuós al voltant de Joan Ponç, que va fer propícia la seva irrupció com a un dels grans catalitzadors de l’art contemporani català.
Un dels valors d’aquest llibre és que aparegué a temps per acompanyar dues exposicions simultànies, tan grans com esperades: la del mateix Joan Ponç a la Perdera, i la de Joan Brossa al Macba. El destí o l’efecte encara viu d’aquell cercle virtuós ens permet veure el conjunt de figures i complicitats que donaren peu a un moviment artístic del més alt voltatge.
A dins del Quadern trobem la força i la màgia amb què es van establir unes relacions, una germandat encomiable, entre poetes, galeristes, crítics i editors com Xavier Corberó, Joan Brossa, Modest Cuixart, Antoni Tàpies, J.V. ]]> The Quadern de Correspondències comes to complete the task of compilation of texts about the painter, whitch began with the edition of Ponç abans de Ponç, also edited by Pilar Parcerisas. From that research, interesting letters and postcards appreared and they were the beginning of the Quadern. A set of documents that, assembled, help us to understand the importance of personal and professional relationships that formed a virtuous circle around Joan Ponç. It make possible its irruption as one of the bigest catalysts of the Catalan contemporary art. 

One of the values of this book is that appeared on time to accompany two simultaneous exhibitions, as big as awaited: one about Joan Ponç in La Perdera of Barcelona, and one about Joan Brossa in the Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona. The destination or the living effect of that virtuous circle allows us to see the set of figures and complicities that facilitated an important artistic movement.

Inside the Quadern we find the strength and the magic from the established relationships, which rebel a praise worthy brotherhood, between poets, gallery owners, critics and publishers like Xavier Corberó, Joan Brossa, Antoni Tàpies, J. V. Foix, Josep Palau i Fabre, José Corredor-Matheos, Cesáreo Rodríguez Aguilera or René Metras; whose stela is multiple and it still bears its fruits. 

The volume is structured in two parts: after the introduction of Pilar Parcerisas, the first part presents every person with whom Ponç corresponded, and we find its transcription. The second part is the reproduction of the original letters, where you can appreciate drawings and calligraphies that Ponç was creating in every occasion.
