The Quadern de Correspondències comes to complete the task of compilation of texts about the painter, whitch began with the edition of Ponç abans de Ponç, also edited by Pilar Parcerisas. From that research, interesting letters and postcards appreared and they were the beginning of the Quadern. A set of documents that, assembled, help us to understand the importance of personal and professional relationships that formed a virtuous circle around Joan Ponç. It make possible its irruption as one of the bigest catalysts of the Catalan contemporary art.
One of the values of this book is that appeared on time to accompany two simultaneous exhibitions, as big as awaited: one about Joan Ponç in La Perdera of Barcelona, and one about Joan Brossa in the Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona. The destination or the living effect of that virtuous circle allows us to see the set of figures and complicities that facilitated an important artistic movement.
Inside the Quadern we find the strength and the magic from the established relationships, which rebel a praise worthy brotherhood, between poets, gallery owners, critics and publishers like Xavier Corberó, Joan Brossa, Antoni Tàpies, J. V. Foix, Josep Palau i Fabre, José Corredor-Matheos, Cesáreo Rodríguez Aguilera or René Metras; whose stela is multiple and it still bears its fruits.
The volume is structured in two parts: after the introduction of Pilar Parcerisas, the first part presents every person with whom Ponç corresponded, and we find its transcription. The second part is the reproduction of the original letters, where you can appreciate drawings and calligraphies that Ponç was creating in every occasion.
